Collected a dead laptop from my house and told me what it would cost to dignose the problem. When he did, he offered me... two solutions. He backed up the data from the hard drive and ordered a new motherboard which arrived from the far east later, as it was an old model for which stocks were not held locally. Agaain, I had a choice of a direct replacement or an upgrade. I now have a fully working laptop and the costs were very reasonable indeed.read more
